Forty-two percent of Americans say the quality of the environment is getting better, similar to recent years but still up from 26% in 2008. Also, 44% rate the quality of the environment as excellent or good, up slightly from 2005-2009. Read more at GALLUP.com....

Nearly one-quarter of adults worldwide rated their lives highly enough to be "thriving," according to Gallup surveys in 146 countries in 2011. Thriving ranged from a high of 74% in Denmark to a low of 2% in Cambodia. Read more at GALLUP.com....
