Let me be honest about what that number is and what it isn’t.
It isn’t a sales figure. It isn’t a bestseller list — we already got that from USA TODAY. A hundred reviews is something rarer and, to me, more meaningful. It is a hundred people who finished the book, closed it, and then decided the thing mattered enough to sit down and write about it. Nobody gets paid to do that. Nobody is required to do it. They did it because something in those pages moved them.
And when I read what they wrote, a pattern shows up that tells me we got the assignment right.
They keep calling it a plan. Not a critique, not a complaint, not another diagnosis of what’s broken in America — a plan. One reader called it the most complete economic roadmap for a 21st-century America he’d seen. Another said it should be required reading in high schools and colleges. A third wrote three words that could serve as the book’s whole thesis: invest where you live.
Then there was the reader who wrote that since joining Operation HOPE, her credit score has gone up and her relationship with money has changed. That’s not a book review. That’s a life. And that’s the only metric I have ever actually cared about.
I wrote Capitalism For All because I believe capitalism is not the problem — it’s the greatest wealth-creation system the world has ever built, and it has simply never been fully democratized. We don’t need to tear the system down. We need to finish it. We need to stop pulling up the ladder and start building more of them.
A hundred readers now say that case landed. That’s a beginning, not a finish line.
