Bryant's Love Leadership Makes Business Bestseller List for 14th Time

I was humbled and pleasantly surprised when my first business book on leadership, LOVE LEADERSHIP: The New Way to Lead in a Fear-Based World (Jossey-Bass), made it to the Inc. Magazine/CEO READ Business Bestseller List the first time after its release.   And I was thrilled when Love Leadership was again selected one of the top 10 bestselling business books for all of 2010, but I was blown away when out of the blue, and after being off the list for a few months (most of 2011), Love Leadership showed up again for September, 2011, as one of the bestselling business books in the country.

IMG_0431 Given that I was encouraged not to use Love Leadership as the title, and was told that a business book on leadership "such as this" would not work and would not sell, this does nothing but encourage me more, to do more.

And while I have not said much about this in the past (as I was not altogether sure whether I should be proud or saddened by the fact), I seem to be the only African-American author who has consistently made the bestselling business book list over the last two years or so.  This must change, and I encourage the next young (or more mature) African-American leader in business to knock me off the list, and soon!

Business and understanding what we at Operation HOPE call the unique and global "language of money," and the rules of how the system of free enterprise and capitalism "work," is the new frontier of civil rights for our generation. I call this the silver rights empowerment, and going forward we must master this too.

Let's go…

Below find the complete list of 25 bestselling business books for September, 2011.  And thank you all, for helping to make Love Leadership a bestseller once again.  For all those who purchase your book through Operation HOPE, all net proceeds go to benefit the organization I founded, which has empowered more than 1.5 million individuals with financial dignity since the Rodney King Riots of 1992 in Los Angeles, California.

Finally, a special thank you to my YGL (Forum of Young Global Leader) family that inspired the book, to my publisher Jossey-Bass and Wiley Publishing that gave it the green light, and last but not least, to my dear friend, YGL booster and sponsor, and writing-mentor Bill George, who wrote the Forward for my book and who guided me through the process of writing a book that both reflected my own values, and voice, while at the same time hit the mark for a reading public.
