Milken Institute Author Talk: John Hope Bryant, “Capitalism for All: Inclusive Economics and the Future-Proofing of America”

EDITOR’S NOTE

Capitalism for All at the Milken Institute Global Conference 2026

There are certain stages that, by their very design, demand that you bring your biggest ideas. The Milken Institute Global Conference is one of them.

On May 6th, I will take the stage in Los Angeles for an Author Talk on my new book, Capitalism for All: Inclusive Economics and the Future-Proofing of America, in conversation with the Milken Institute’s Chief Strategy Officer, Jeff Valliere. The session is part of the Conference’s Access, Opportunity, & Economic Mobility track — a track that sits at the very heart of the work I have dedicated my life to through Operation HOPE, Inc. and Bryant Group Ventures.

The timing of this conversation could not be more urgent — or more fitting. As America approaches its 250th anniversary, we find ourselves at an inflection point. The question is no longer whether capitalism works. The question is who it works for, and what it will cost us — economically, socially, and competitively — if we continue to leave millions of people locked out of the system that is supposed to define our national promise.

Capitalism for All is my answer to that question. It is a practical framework — not a protest, not a complaint, but a blueprint — for expanding access to capital, financial literacy, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence so that we can strengthen the middle class, sharpen America’s global edge, and make the American Dream more than a slogan. It is the work of an economic plumber: someone who fixes the pipes so that opportunity can flow to everyone, not just those already connected to the system.

I am honored to bring this message to the Milken Global Conference stage. And for those attending in person, I look forward to continuing the conversation at the Barnes & Noble on-site bookstore immediately following the session.

The economy doesn’t need more rhetoric. It needs more plumbing. Let’s get to work.
