Sitting beside Ambassador Andrew Young at The Breakfast Club was one of the honors of my year. We came to talk about The Dirty Work, the documentary on Andy’s life, and the conversation went everywhere: his friendship with Dr. King, the movement, and what this generation has to build next.

Andy has mentored me for decades. Hearing him tell those stories to a new audience reminded me why the work of economic empowerment is the next chapter of the civil rights story.
