The Pain, Power and Promise of Credit Scores
John Hope Bryant on CNBC: how credit scores can transform a community.

Your credit score is the price of your money.

That is the whole episode in one sentence, and it is why I keep coming back to this topic year after year. A 500 credit score means you pay more for everything: the car, the apartment, the phone, the loan you take out to start the business. A 700 score means the world gets cheaper, and doors that were closed to you quietly open.

On this week’s Money & Wealth I break down where the score comes from, why it hurts so much when it is low, and the handful of moves that actually raise it. There are no gimmicks in it, only the things our HOPE Inside coaches have used with hundreds of thousands of clients to move scores up, on average, by more than 50 points.

If you only listen to one episode this season, make it this one, and then send it to somebody you love who needs it.
