The Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles is one of the few places where Wall Street, Washington and Main Street end up in the same room. Beyond my author talk this year, I had two conversations there that I want to share.
On May 5, Nicholas Kristof of The New York Times moderated Kitchen Table Economics: American Families and the Affordability Challenge. I joined Suzanne Clark of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Michael Dimock of the Pew Research Center and Neera Tanden of the Center for American Progress. Housing, health care, child care, student debt and utility bills are pressing on families all at once, and we talked through what markets and policy can each do about it.
The next morning I sat down with Carol Massar and Joe Mathieu for Bloomberg Talks, live from the conference floor.
